Title: getting utf-8 encoded text into Tinderbox
Post by Rob Hamrick on Aug 16th, 2007, 12:20pm

I'm having some trouble getting utf-8-encoded text into Tinderbox.  I'm trying to use a rule of the form

   Text=`myScript $myAttribute

where myScript produces output encoded as utf-8.  Tinderbox seems to do just fine with characters like '' encoded with Mac OS Roman, but displays something like √ in the place of '' with my unicode text.

What's the best thing for me to do here?  Do I need to alter my script to produce mac-roman encoded output, or is there something I can do about this in Tinderbox?

Tinderbox currently assumes that the script output is Mac-Roman.

OK, that should be good enough for my purposes.  Thanks.
