Title: Tinderbox and Subversion
Post by Sebastian Stephenson on Mar 19th, 2009, 9:50am

I am thinking of making a website in tinderbox and I thought of putting into subversion so that I can keep tap on it but then I may just export HTML and back that up instead of the tinderbox file as well? what do you think?

and also use this as a place to discuss the use of subversion with tinderbox in general.

thanks

We've been using subversion for version control of the Tinderbox Cookbook for several months now.  It works great.

Subversion has also been handy for a Tinderbox/Javascript research program on a generalization of stretchtext.

One area that requires more practical exploration is using subversion to sync simultaneous changes in different parts of a single Tinderbox document.  That should work in principle; how it plays in practice is not yet entirely clear in my mind.

I see but is it just the html or the tbx as well?

Yes: since Tinderbox documents are XML, they are easy to check into Subversion

I am trying out version(http://versionsapp.com/) and cornerstone(http://www.zennaware.com/cornerstone/) and both I think when making my website with tinderbox will use to see which I like best

or do you think I should learn the command line?

and also I am new to subversion but lets say that I have a file that I want to commit in textmate and commit it to the repository will it show up in versions or cornerstone? (I think it should)
