Title: Single note export
Post by Arthur Magnusson on Mar 11th, 2010, 6:18pm

My single fit-all TB file is rather large, and I would want to export a container (and its children) that is located somewhat deep into an outline. Is there a way to export only this? Switching all the other note to HTMLDontExport=false still lead to empty files and folders to be created for all the sibling notes...

Thanks

How about turning off HTMLExportChildren for all the notes that aren't ancestors of the section of interest?

If you really want to export a single note, of course, you can select the note and export it from HTML View.

Choose from the File menu: New. This will give you an entirely new Tinderbox Document. Now drag (copy) the container (with all the notes under it) from your large document onto the new document and you're almost done.

You now only need to set whatever export options you want to the specific container without having to worry about all the other sections of your main document. Afterwards, delete the new document (you don't want two versions of the same notes on your disk).

Alternatively, if you need to do this more often, set up the new document as an export template. Drag a container onto it, do the export, then delete the container after which the Export Template Document is set to receive and execute another session.
