Title: Adornments as optional layer in outline hierarchy
Post by Stefan Keydel on Feb 29th, 2012, 2:24pm

Hello,

I would be interested in having Map Adornments optionally serve as a layer of the hierarchy in Outline and Chart views. Since I tend to think of Adornments as having a grouping function, I would find it useful to be able to see these groupings in an outline or a chart; as well, I would find it useful to be able to have them materialize in an export.

At the moment, my workaround is to use big containers as adornments, changing InteriorScale and MapTextSize so that the children are easily readable within. However, this means that:

- I'm unable to view links between notes in the Map
- I need to dive into the top-level container in order to make changes to Note names, etc.
- I can't see notes inside containers one layer down

I suspect that programming this would be anything but trivial, but it can't hurt to ask, right? ;)

Thanks,
Stefan

Ah, thanks Paul! There are some interesting workarounds here-- I should have spent a bit more time searching.
