Title: Attaching files or folders

Is there a setting to attach files or folders to notes ?

Not in v6.0.0, but a solution is tested. I suspect it will be in the next release. Basically, $File and File-type user attributes in key attributes and Get Info will have a widget a bit like that for URL attributes which will aid setting/opening linked assets.

In the Key Attributes table and in Get Info, all File attributes (including $File) accept files dropped on the from the finder.  Once you have set the value -- either this way or by entering the file path -- pressing the file attribute’s folder icon will open the file.

This gets a little bit easier in 6.0.1

Thanks Mark.

I've found the File and URL user attributes. Where is the Script attribute – Script (drop script here) – hiding?

I don't believe that has been taken forward. It's an age since I heard of anyone using it. If you want to run an external script, runCommand() gives you access to the shell (from which you can run AppleScript.

Tinderbox 5 was never AppleScriptable, in the sense of having an app-specific AS dictionary.

the feature I have been waiting in TB 6 was some kind of syncing method with the folder system (or via Dropbox). it has been requested a couple of  times:

that would have made everything smoother, more efficient...hmm

As a TB newbie, I'd find the sync feature described by Dellu to be very compelling. I assume at present a file attribute (system- or user-defined) won't necessarily find the same file in Dropbox (or some other service) on different systems due to any difference in the account ID one is logged in under. (Haven't had a chance to try this yet.)

For File-type attributes, you are storing the full local POSX path to the object.

At present, even if you edit the path to the home folder to '~' in the automatically derived stored value, TB6 cannot resolve that path. I have suggested (via a different channel) that the '~' short cut be supported as it would certainly aid access to Dropbox items which by default are at ~/Dropbox on most Macs.

Yes, that would be very useful. Just about ideal, actually.

It'll be in 6.0.1
