Title: auto-numbering of notes in outline view?
Post by jasonromney on Nov 9th, 2014, 8:53pm

Folks, does anyone know if it is possible to automatically number the notes in an outline view (in the same way the view menu has the "use checkboxes" option that makes checkboxes automagically appear next to each note)?
Sometimes in a meeting it would be easier to draw attention to a note for discussion purposes (especially when the number of notes is larger) by referring to a line number. It would be good if this worked in a focus view as well.
Cheers.

$SiblingOrder is what you are looking for.

Read more here http://www.acrobatfaq.com/atbref5/index/MiscUserInterfaceAspects/OutlinevsMapInterface/WhatisSiblingOrder.html and here http://www.acrobatfaq.com/atbref5/index/Attributes/SystemAttributeList/SiblingOrder.html.

Essentially: $OutlineOrder numbers items from top to bottom in the whole file. $SiblingOrder does it within each container.
