Title: Importing Scrivener files
Post by Stephen Hay on Jan 1st, 2016, 2:30pm

Hi,

In the midst of a clean-up and I'd like to move a whole lot of notes I have in Scrivener into Tbx. I seem to remember there was once an Import function, how do we go about this now? I'm on 6.4.0

Thanks,
Stephen

Try opening the Scrivener file; that should do the trick.

Mark B -- could you elaborate slightly, pls? I'm interested in this too and not sure whether you mean open the Scrivener file inside TB, open it in Scriv and look for an export/import command, etc. Thanks!

How very, very excellent!

File -> Open... scroll to Scrivener document, Open.

Complete Scrivener contents now in a new Tbx document.

Select and Copy all Notes, Paste into desired Tbx, Continue clean-up...

Continuing this thread...
When I open a Scrivener file in Tinderbox 6.6.5, the Tinderbox notes that correspond to Scrivener Folders, do not display any internal text associated with the folders themselves. So:

If the Scrivener document is a simple page, its text shows up in the Tinderbox Note.
If the Scrivener document is a Folder (chapter etc.), and has its own internal text (as well as the simple documents in the folder), the text inside the folder document itself does not show up in the text of the corresponding folder Note in Tinderbox.

Am I missing a step?

N.
