Title: PopClip to Tinderbox
Post by andreas grimm on Apr 14th, 2016, 11:32am

Just recently I came across the Clip-To-TB-issue discussed in this topic.

It works well but I'd like to know whether there is someone who could assist in creating a popclip-extention.

Maybe there is one already I just haven't found yet.

Ideas?

Cheers!

andreas

Here u have it. I have been using this for a while now. It works fine; so far as you are careful enough in selecting the appropriate Container (inBox) before you clip the text.

Thanks, Desalegn, for getting back on this and offering a solution. Did you compose it yourself?

Anyway, I'm not able to use the offered extension for every download of it results in a "Clip To Tinderbox.popclipext.html" which I than rename to "Clip To Tinderbox.popclipextz" --> but than I'm told: "Cannot Install Extension" since: it "does not contain a valid PopClip extension" --> "Reason: Failed to unzip extension".

I suggest you try to upload a zipped version of your "Clip-To-Tinderbox"-extension using the correct extension "popclipextz".

What do you think? Would that be possible?

Thank you and all the best

andreas

Try this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fezw59ukk226iz9/Clip%20To%20Tinderbox.popclipext.zip?dl=0. When downloading check you get a zoo file (if not the default choose the page should offer it as an alternate)

This is @Desalegn's ZIP file, which downloaded and unpacked fine for me. I've not got PopClip on this Mac but the zip does give me an unpacked file 'Clip To Tinderbox.popclipext'.

Thanks, Mark Anderson. Helpful as always!

The file through the link you kindly provided works perfectly well now.

Maybe someone could elaborate on the fact that this popclip-extension ends not with "z" (= popclipextz) but with "t" (= popclipext )instead.

Ideas?

Cheers!

For avoidance of doubt - I've no idea.

Yes, I composed it from Mark's Service.

That is strange. I don't know why that happens.

Mark, thank you for fixing it.

I can also share you the root folder which contains all of my popclip extensions: quite useful ones.  You will get 5 productivity (writing and reading) extensions.

1. Takes the selected text and Search in FoxTrot Professional Search
2. Searches online reverse dictionary: www.onelook.com
3. Clips to Tinderbox
4. Searches Translateit Dictionary. I use this dictionary b/c I am able to add my favorite Roget's II thesaurus to it
5. highlights and underlines in PDF files: works in Acrobat adobe, PDF expert, Preview, Bookends

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ktxe8pte5299hm1/Popclip.zip?dl=0

now, zipped

I hope u find  them useful

Hi Desalegan

I've downloaded your popclip extensions with gratitude and excitement - however, I can't get it to work.

Is there something else that has to be done to enable it?

Apologies for being a bit un-technical on Macs / macos - i'm kind of newish to it.

Thanks, Ian

which version of Tinderbox are you using?

If you have already moved to TB-7, I have uploaded a new version for you (https://www.dropbox.com/s/aczle54yf18yjp5/Clip%202%20Tinderbox%207.zip?dl=0)

The thing is: you should not forget the Mark Anderson's Service first. I have included the Service with the Popclip config file this time.

put the service (Clip Selection to Tinderbox v7)  in  ~/Library/Services/

Then, instal  the pop-clip clipper.  It will show up as TB on the popclip. You have try it on Safari (Cocoa app?).
