Title: turn rich text off in favor of plain text?
Post by Steve Scott on Aug 9th, 2016, 10:30pm

My TBX files are usually deeply structured outlines.  I'm seeing the value of working less structured outlines so that I can use the map view.  I have always stumbled with the notes in tbx.

1. Is there a way to turn rich text off?

2. Sometimes when I copy text from another app I forget to remove the styling.  This results in unintended <h2> tags.

3. Once the text of a note is styled, is there a way to return to the default?

There is no way to turn off rich text in note text.  To reset defaults, select all $Text (or the affected section) and use Format > Style > Standard Font. Depending on how screwed up the formatting is you may also need to use the Standard Size (font size) and Reset Margin options on the same menu.

Note that this menu option resets all formatting. So if you have bold or italic on the wrong size/face/colour text you'll need to re-apply those features after resetting the text.  There's no selective reset.
