Title: How to tell how far you are entitled to upgrade.
Post by Diane Thompson on Aug 21st, 2016, 1:23pm

I purchased an upgrade Jul 28, 2015 09:25 PM (6.3.1).  The last time I checked there was an update that I thought I would have been entitled to (6.6.1)  It was within the year of being purchased.  There was a checkmark on the registration box, but there was an underlying message on my database saying that it was an unregistered copy and needed to be purchased.  Previously, you could tell in the registration box that the next upgrade was not a paid one.  The check mark was confusing.  I thought you could get upgrades for a full year.
I dug out my 6.3.1 original version and installed it. ..but I was just wondering how to tell when you can't upgrade any more.

This is best asked directly to tech support (info@eastgate.com). On my system, using the Tinderbox menu ->, Register Tinderbox option, the resulting dialog shows the number of months of entitlement left.

If you think you should still have an entitlement and you can't update, please email tech support (info@eastgate.com). as a user-to-user forum this isn't the sort of thing other users can resolve.

Thanks.  My registration doesn't have that.  I will contact tech support.

Tinderbox upgrades cover all new releases issued a year from when you purchased the upgrade.

In the registration window, you'll see a line that either explains

You have about 3 months of free updates remaining

Or, if you have no remaining time, suggests that you might want to purchase an upgrade.

In the registration window, a green checkmark indicates that Tinderbox is currently registered, and a gray checkmark indicates that the version you're using is not yet registered.

Tinderbox 6.6.1 was released on June 6, 2016, so it should fall within your year. You might double-check that you're using the code from July 2015; sometimes, people forget to enter the update code.
