Title: Cut words with footnotes, paste it,+not lose them?
Post by oxband on Dec 19th, 2016, 12:03pm

I am writing a script for something and have footnotes to help me with a lot of the words. When I cut and paste words that have footnotes and are highlighted blue......I find that the footnotes have not survived the pasting. The words are now plain ol' jane black with nothing attached. Is there any way to cut and paste without losing footnotes?

Tinderbox is leery of accidentally adding links you didnít intend.  In this case, it assumes that the text link adheres to the note, and that you might not want it in its new place.

You can easily create a new text link after the paste.

  • make a new tab in which the destination is visible
  • paste the text where you want it
  • drag a link from the link anchor to the parking space
  • switch to the tab you just made, and drag a link from the parking space to the destination
