Deleting Notes via an alias
Aug 06th, 2007, 8:58pm

I often see a note's alias and think, hey, I want to delete that note. My current solution is to use command-R to find the original, select it and delete it.

My problem is that this yanks me out of my current view (usually at the top-level of outline view) and into a new view, a window on a deeper level of the outline where the original note rests.

I want to "stay put" at that top-level view.

I guess I could stamp notes with a special "DeleteMe" keyword or something and make an agent do the deletion for me. Does anyone have a better idea? Thanks.

Open a new view on the alias and then then use Cmd+R?

I notice Cmd+Shift+R is not mapped as a shortcut (as at v4.0.0), perhaps this could (feature suggestion!) be used to 'Locate Original in a new window'.

See this wiki page.

Hey Mark - Opening a new view is a good idea! Didn't think of that. Thanks!  Smiley
