Anyone interested in a Folding@Home team?
Nov 19th, 2007, 8:55pm

Is anyone interested in starting a "Team Tinderbox" for folding@home, SETI@home, climate prediction or any other distributed computing projects?

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/

I would be willing to officially start the team. Feel free to contribute ideas for a team name, what project to participate in, even any reasons why this might not be a good idea.

And of course, if Eastgate would rather start it themselves, or that we not do it, that would be relevant, too.

I'm happy to join!

Is there an interesting way that Tinderbox agents or actions could get into the swim?

There's now a Team Tinderbox on Folding@Home. The team # is 94787. I have some questions for the Folding@Home people.  Their forum is down, and their stats reporting function always tells me to come back later, so proceed at your own risk.

I'll post details and links here when I see things running smoothly. In the meantime, the floor is open if anyone has a distributed computing project they'd like to recommend instead.

To quote Professor Hubert Farnsworth from "Futurama",

Good News, Everyone!

Team Tinderbox is up and running!

To join,

1.) download the client- http://folding.stanford.edu

2.) Check to see if the user name you want is already taken (on the same download page).

3.) Once you have a username, go to System Preferences. A new pane will have been created. Enter your username and the number of Team Tinderbox (94787).
