Allowable characters in attribute field
Feb 01st, 2008, 12:45pm

Looked fairly carefully through doc, reference files and forum; sorry if I missed this:

How many characters can an attribute field hold? I want to send Tinderbox emails to a group of recipients. If I need more than the limit, could I concatenate two attributes together when I use the OnAdd Action to send email?

Alternatively, could I define a recipient group elsewise (macro?) and then call for the macro to execute from an attribute?

String attributes can be of arbitrary length, but the user interface is intended for short strings. (I think the current implementation goes to about 8K characters, but I wouldn't recommend that)

If you need very long attributes, consider instead using the text of a dedicated note and ^including the text as needed.  Or, set the attribute of Note 1 from the text for Note 2, using a rule.
