Outliner&TextFrame - A template
Jan 4th, 2010, 8:22pm

This thread is dedicated to the "Outliner&TextFrame.tbx" template file.

Overview:
The template will create an html document, double framed, that emulates the display of Explorer View.

The left frame renders all the notes inside /outliner. The notes preserve their original outline hierarchy and, thanks to a neat javascript trick, they can be expanded or contracted by clicking on the disclosure triangles.

The right frame displays the ^text of each note selected in the outline (click on the ^title to invoke its corresponding ^text).

You can grab a copy here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76377/TinderboxForum/Outliner%26TextFrame_v5.3_MM.zip

And this is the expected result:

1. Future versions will be announced here. So far, version 5.3 is the latest.

2. The intention is to work periodically on improving the template, so, stay tuned.

3. The original thread is still of interest because it addresses many issues concerning Tinderbox's HTML export resources in general (http://www.eastgate.com/Tinderbox/forum//YaBB.pl?num=1240192762/60).

4. Here, I'll make a brief tutorial for newcomers, explaining how it works and what has to be done in order to export the files correctly.

Some great work here, Marcelo. I had dropped HTML frames years ago and left them for dead. Your demonstration shows how HTML frames can be employed to maintain document orientation and position usable by readers for navigation.

Thanks for this.
