Join J. Nathan Matias, Mark Anderson, and Alex Strick van Linschoten for a day of fascinating, erudite, practical, and fun workshops about Tinderbox and Emberlight, tools for notes.

9:30am to 6pm on Saturday, 28 May,  London.

The three of us are meeting up to share ideas and work on projects before Nathan moves to MIT and Alex goes on his next journalism trip. We thought you might to join us!

Whether you're Tinderbox-curious or an experienced Tinderbox user, we would love you to bring your ideas, questions, and projects. We expect the day to include:
  • Introduction to Tinderbox and Emberlight
  • Demos of our latest uses of Tinderbox
  • Bring your project, give us a demo, and ask for feedback or ideas
  • (optional) group team project (details TBA)
We expect the projects and topics to be relevant to:
  • Journalism
  • Personal Information Tracking
  • Meetings & Collaboration
  • Writing, Research & Electronic Literature
  • Making Websites
The venue will be chosen the week before, based on how many people register. Please write if you have a venue suggestion.

J. Nathan Matias is director of Emberlight, a web service for publishing and sharing Tinderbox files to the web. He has used Tinderbox writing dissertations, making documentary art, understandinng ideas, and personal information tracking.

Mark Anderson maintains Tinderbox reference documentation, is a Tinderbox beta tester, and does consulting in Tinderbox and Digital Asset Management. He is currently developing a stretchtext blogging platform in Tinderbox.

Alex Strick van Linschoten is a writer/researcher based in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He co-edited the autobiography of one of the founding members of the Taliban and is currently trying to get to grips with NATO's insurgent targeting campaign using open-source data and Tinderbox to process it all.

Oh, and before someone helpfully notes it, yes it is a Bank Holiday Saturday. However, finding a slot before summer with the presenters all available has been difficult! Better some meeting than none at all.

If you can make it I look forward to seeing you there.
