import article metadata from Sente
Mar 13th, 2012, 4:42pm

Hello
one of my most productive uses of Tinderbox is a reading list in which I keep track of the various scientific publications that I am reading, their interconnections, my thoughts about certain aspects of their analysis etc.
One recurring task is to copy the relevant citation metadata (authors, publication year, Journal, abstract) as well as a link back to the respective publication in Sente, the reference manager that I am using, the latter being an application specific URL looking like this sente:/Bibliothek_CH/Beerli+2004

I understand that a similar support exists for another such reference manager (Bookends by Sonny Software). Would it be possible to support Sente or Papers, too, and in what way can I help?

Best regards
Christoph

In the meantime, a previous exploration of Sente import is described in this thread (I no longer have a copy of Sente). Drag import of a Bookends reference is described here.

While this might enable a programmer (which I am not) to come up with his or her own solution, I'd greatly prefer something similar to the Bookends support from within Tinderbox.
I would think the Sente developers themselves would be willing to provide support from their end.
Thanks nonetheless, Mark.

I'd be very much interested myself as well!

All the best

Yes, please. Make importing references and notes from Sente as easy as it is from Bookends.

Thanks!
