Tinderbox Tutorials Volume 2
Jul 23rd, 2012, 3:50pm

I have just purchased and downloaded Volume 2, and very interesting and helpful it looks too, especially the screencasts - congratulations! But I don't have Volume 1. As a TB beginner/early intermediate, am I missing significant content? (Or, in Hollywood terms, how much is Volume 2 a sequel, and how much a re-boot?  Smiley)

Yes, there's a good deal of material in Volume 1 that isn't in Volume 2, and vice versa.

The original plan called for no significant overlap.  That changed because we wanted to remaster some of the screencasts from volume 1 to take into account new features in Tinderbox 2.

On balance, volume 1 is more elementary, and is especially concerned with using maps and outlines. Volume 2 is meant to be a little more advanced, and involves more work with agents, actions, and export templates.

FWIW, my Demo Bank, which I've offered up as part of the Tutorial pack gets added to over time and also reviewed/updated for new app features as pertinent (e.g. replacing deprecated code syntax).

(Before someone asks, no I don't keep a log of those changes.)
