Displaying Hover Data in Timeline View
Aug 03rd, 2012, 12:10pm

As far as I can tell (in 5.11.2) hover works in Outline, Map, and Explorer views–maybe others too–but not in Timeline View.

In Timeline View hover would be useful especially to display date ranges when needed, since at many zoom levels the timeline scale (appropriately) does not show much detail.

Can of course show date ranges via DisplayExpression, but that can add distracting clutter if applied to all events, and is an inconvenient extra step if applied event by event.

Hover would also be useful to show ages in a crowded timeline, as described here.

Excellent points.  This could be tricky to implement, as timeline views can be crowded.  We'll take a shot in Tinderbox 6.
