Using FoldingText with Tinderbox
Sep 29th, 2012, 6:15am

Jesse Grosjean at Hog Bay Software (creator of TaskPaper and WriteRoom) is close to debuting his new application, FoldingText, on the App Store.  (A beta of v1.0 is available here.) FoldingText blends the features of TaskPaper and Markdown in a plain-text document.  The "folding" part is the use of the markup to create expanding/contracting outlines.  The TaskPaper part is creating task lists like this:

the ".todo" part is a "mode" property that tells the FoldingText interpreter that what follows is a task list which should be formatted with checkboxes.  As in TaskPaper, when tasks are clicked "done" they are struck out.

It is a snap to make a text export from Tinderbox to create the initial task list shown in the image.  Here's a simple demo that does that.  There are many other ways to integrate Tinderbox and FoldingText.
