Organisation Hierarchy
Feb 04th, 2014, 8:25am

Hi,

I use a mindmap currently for my organisation hierarchy. I use iThoughts. I have a node for each dept and then everyone in the dept is under that node and I link the same name so I can see an individuals involvement in other depts.

I'm creating the dept as adornments and aliasing the names and dragging them into the dept they work in and then link the same name so I can follow where one paricualr person is involved in many depts.

Is this the best way to do it? I did think of creating a noe for each dept and dragging the people into it, but then I lose them from the main map view.

I cannot seem to find many extensive mindmap uses in Tinderbox on the web and this link has not content:

The David Fultz profile, mentioned above, is again available. Thanks for bringing the problem to our attention.

I think your approach is ideal for maps of moderate size.  If you have to do this for thousands of people, or needed to map hundreds of divisions, then using containers would avoid unreasonable clutter.

Aha: see http://www.eastgate.com/Tinderbox/Profiles/Fultz.html.  And the main URL is now repaired as well.
