Use of "any" in a rule
Feb 23rd, 2014, 10:33am

I see this entry [ http://www.acrobatfaq.com/atbref5/index/ActionsRules/Operators/ActionOperatorSco...]in aTbRef about the use of "any" in returning Boolean values.

I am trying apply a certain badge to given containers, depending on whether any sub-item in that container is now "Due." I have set up this rule for the container prototype:

If(any(children,$DueDate<="today")) {$Badge="question"}

If I use the first half of that expression in an agent, it returns the results I would expect. If I include the $Badge action in that agent, it has the expected result. But when I use what is shown above as a rule for the prototype, it has no apparent effect. It doesn't apply the badge mark. What am I missing here?

I suspect it is the 'I' in the opening 'If'. It should be 'if' action code syntax is case sensitive.

Thank you! That indeed did the trick.
