Using attributes in Find
Jun 25th, 2014, 11:37am
In the Find window of TB5 a dropdown lists Text, Name and also any user attributes to narrow down searches. How is this implemented in TB6? With an agent, I presume, but can it be done also in a more direct way?

No, to avoid a complex UI in the top bar, find is limited to title, text or both title and text. Otherwise make an agent.

People can get spooked by making an agent.  An agent with a query and no action does nothing to notes, it simply makes an alias for each matching note.

If you're using agents to review an attribute's values or to look for notes with a specific value, the new v6 Attribute Browser does this for you in one UI - you can even apply a filtering query. In a way, it's a form of agent that shows the values of an attribute, sorted by that value. If you're used to using v5 to locate notes with a particular value, give Attribute Browser a go (if you've not found it, it's a main view/left pane display format instead of map, outline, etc.)
