Persistent Error
Sep 2nd, 2014, 5:57pm

I have the following error on I believe every note in my document--it is my Day Book and there are many notes:

This note's $OnAdd cannot be parsed: $Color=$Color #9f2400

/Reading

Two things:
1. I have gone through the Attribute Browser and cannot find that color anywhere.

2. I have no /Reading directory in the Document. †I many have had in the past but I don't remember.

So †I can't figure out how to get rid of this message. †It is not critical, it just drives me nuts.

If you have a root-level container (i.e. $OutlineDepth of 1) called "Reading", its $Path is '/Reading'. If that doesn't exist, close and re-open the roc and the error note should clear.

The error warning isn't attached to a note. It shows in 'all' notes as the feature is simply on or off in the text pane. You resolve the issues - and make the waring go - by opening the pop-up from any note and finding and fixing all the errors in the list.

If I recall, you could delete a problem note and the error list didn't update but I thought that was fixed. Either way, closing and re-opening the doc ought to clear things.

Otherwise, create an agent with the query: $Path=="/Reading". If the agent gets a match, right-click and choose the option to view the original in a new tab. Then select the note and use the action inspector to view/correct the $OdAdd.

The error indicates that the top-level note named Reading has (or had) an OnAdd action

    $Color=$Color #9f2400

That action canít be parsed -- which is Tinderboxís way of saying, "that makes no sense!"  If you wanted to set the color of notes added to Reading to a dark orange-red, you'd want

   $Color="#9f2400"

Thanks to both Marks; however, I did what both of you said and the error is still there.  I did a query and nothing shows up with /Reading as its path.

Opening/closing, etc., none of it seems to make sense.  I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure what it is.

If the error box is reporting and error with the path "/Reading" AND you've proved via an agent it doesn't exist (as opposed to not show in your current view) AND saving/closing/reopening doesn't clear the error you probably net to get some one to look at your file. As it's you daybook you might to best to show a copy to support.
