Outline re-org affects map view organization
Apr 06th, 2015, 1:19pm

Hello --

I created 2 notes, then put each of them into a separate adornment on the map. In Outline, I then created another note and moved the 2 original notes to be children of that note.

When I return to map view, I don't see those original 2 notes anywhere. I assumed they would remain in their respective adornments, as I have read that there is no correlation between outline view and map view.

If I go to outline view and move the children out of the parent, they do show up again in the correct adornment.

If I start typing in map view to find one of the notes, which I saw suggested elsewhere in response to someone's comment that they can't find notes on their map, all that happens is a new note gets created.

Have I missed something? Would posting a screencast help?

BTW is there a keyboard shortcut to move among tabs in a window?

Thanks -- Barbara

Oh never mind, I figured it out. But I could still use a keyboard shortcut for switching between tabs. Thanks.

Thanks - that did it (there is a typo -- it shows cmd -opt [ for both previous and next tab; where in fact ] is for the next tab.)

But may I ask why you don't use the Mac standard keystrokes Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab? Any chance of adding those?

I can do so myself with Keyboard Maestro, but if the Mac standard exists, why not implement it? (semi-rhetorical question). One less thing to learn.

Thanks -- Barbara

Thanks for spotting the typo - now fixed in the PDF. All such reports are useful, so do please call in any such errors in my docs.

As a user, I can't answer your question on the allocation of shortcuts. I suggest dropping an email to Eastgate.

It's not entirely clear whether cmd-opt-[ or ctrl-tab is more standard. I've filed an issue to find out.
