Exporting To Word?
Nov 09th, 2015, 11:02am

The release notes for 6.2 say that you can export to all sorts of formats, but File -> Export on my copy of 6.3.2 only lists HTML, Outline and Text.

As an inexperienced Tinderbox user, can someone tell me how to access the extra templates mentioned in the release notes, especially the ones for RTF and Word?

Thanks

"Text" includes several formats -- plain text, of course, but also RTF (which lots of word processors can read) and doc, which Word can read.  Other export formats include Scrivener and OPML, which lots of outliners can read.

I routinely export Tinderbox notes into Word. Word can read HTML files and will convert HTML headings to Word-brand headings. With the right set of Word Styles you can deviate from your HTML export appearance and make something entirely new. The styles management system inside of Word pretty much allows you to create themes.

To accomplish RTF export, export from Tinderbox as HTML, select all, copy, paste into TextEdit, and then save as RTF.

To easily export to Word, you can also (and more easily) export to text and select RTF or doc (Microsoft Word) format from the option sheet menu.
