How do I copy and paste text that includes links?
Feb 04th, 2016, 11:08pm

1. I select some note text and link to another note
2. I cut the linked note text and paste it into a different note
3. The text is no longer linked!

Sad

How can I cut / copy & paste linked note text, and have it maintain the links?

See here. Instead of cut/paste, use copy/paste then delete the original afterwards. I don't know why cut/paste works differently from copy/paste. It may be that the cut action updates the link table (stored outside individual notes data in the TBX's XML) dropping that link so that on pasting there is no longer any valid link. But for now, as at v6.4.0, use copy/paste then delet the original text when done.

I wouldn't expect link data for notes pasted into a separate TBX to surive, as item $ID values are re-assigned in the new file.

My hunch is it broke in the move to the v6 codebase. It's something the forum can't really resolve, please email support to get a better angle on this.

[I've made a note to self to amend the aTbRef guidance.]
