How to attache files as url (POSIX )
Mar 25th, 2016, 11:08am

This topic has been discussed before http://www.eastgate.com/Tinderbox/forum//YaBB.cgi?num=1401992583/0#0. Mark Bernstein promised he will bring the feature in TBX 6.1. but, I cannot confirm if the feature is implemented or not.

I am copying the path of the files in POSIX †format using Alfred. I then †put the address to a $URL or $File attribute. When I click the url, the file is not launching. I am missing sth or the feature is not there?

I find the $URL method †more efficient because I don't have to browse for a file; I can simple paste the link (address).

well, dragging the file directly to the $File seems to work while writing just the link doesn't.

Looking at your screen grab I'd not expect the URL to work as the string you've entered isn't a URL. I believe the URL for a local file should be 'file:///Users/username/Google Drive/...etc.'.

Support for the '~' should cut for the home path was added to File-type attributes in v6.0.1. See release notes: "File attributes now recognize ~ as a shorthand for the userís home folder."
