html export - different directory name
Apr 18th, 2016, 7:38am

I have been converting my blog to use the excellent BoxPress from Scott Heftler.

Scott exports his blog content into a directory named index, it appears this naming defaults from the attribute HTMLExportFileName. Is there a way to change the exported directory name to something other than index e.g. blog ?

See $HTMLExportFileName and the HTNML Inspector's Export sub-tab.

Basically, Tinderbox defaults to using a name derived from a web-safe version of the note names (also truncated for length if needs be). This name is used for the note's exported file and the OS folder created for any child/descendant exported notes; the folder is the filename without the filename extension. Incidentally, the latter can also be custom set via ($HTMLExportExtension. The filename and folder have to be the same, but do not have to match (a derivation) of the source note title.

The easiest place to set $HTMLExportFileName is via the HTML Inspector Export sub-tab or via the note's Get Info attributes sub-tab.
