Formatting tools in Text Window view
Apr 18th, 2016, 2:22pm

I like the ability to use the text formatting tools (styles, ruler, lists) in the Text pane. Sometimes I like to open a Text Window and use it alongside another content window (e.g., document, spreadsheet, WebEx) for making notes. I can't figure out how to see the formatting tools and Key Attributes when in Text Window view.

If this is possible, how do I show these tools?

Thanks,
Forrest

Cmd+Opt+X opens the current note as a tear-off window (or use View menu)

Cmd+Ctrl+R shows/hides the text area ruler & RTF controls in both tear-offs and the text pane (or use Format -> Text menu)

Cmd+Shift+K shows/hides the key attributes in both tear-offs and the text pane (or use View menu)

Or, select the menu item ] Format ▸ Text ▸ Show Ruler to show the ruler, and [b]View ▸ Hide/Show Key Attributes to hide or show the key attributes table.

Thank you very much! I didn't think to look inside the formatting menu!

I'm a Tinderbox user since December. The power and flexibility of the program is truly amazing. I am a management consultant, and for a long time I have been looking for a way to view my daily notes both temporally, and by project/topic. I have figured out some basic ways to do this, and have very much enjoyed learning to crawl with Tinderbox.  Smiley

By the way, I am so impressed with the responsiveness of Mark Anderson and Mark Bernstein. You gentlemen make Tinderbox approachable.

Same here...I wouldn't cope with TB if not for Mark Anderson's fast, sharp & illuminating replies.
