Filling an attribute with a formula result
Nov 04th, 2016, 12:22am

I've created an an empty Attribute called 'ROI" and made it a key attribute of a bunch of notes that already have filled-in Impact and Time attributes. I want the value in the ROI attribute to be the result of $Impact/$Time.

Were I in a spreadsheet, I'd do =$Impact/$Time. How to I fill that attribute with the results of a calculation in Tinderbox?

Thanks, Andrew

To set an attribute via an equation you need to use an action. The action here would be:

$ROI=$Impact/$Time;

You can (re-)run the action a number of ways automatically (once set):
  • Agent action.
  • Rule.
  • Edict.
Or you can do it manually via a stamp. If using an agent consider that if the target is an intrinsic attribute you need to target the original. Thus:

$ROI=$Impact/$Time;

But:

$Xpos(original)=$Impact/$Time;
