Tinderbox Version 6.6.5 (b216) and Sierra? Problem
Jan 10th, 2017, 1:06pm

I've been experimenting with links between notes.  I've got that process down, but now for deleting a link.  I've searched the posts in the forum and find discussion on using agents and rules to remove a link, but the intuitive process (at least for me) doesn't work.

In the map view, I choose Roadmap on one of the notes with a link and try right clicking on the incoming or outgoing link in the Roadmap but clicking produces nothing (no popup menu).  I try various other things but nothing works.  (This discussion pertains to a link between notes in different "levels", so the outgoing link for one note and the incoming link for the other note are indicated as small arrows going in/out, however the link is not a continuous arrow from one note to the other since the notes are on different maps - but I can't even click on the link to get a popup menu that hopefully offers to delete it.)  Yes, I can use the Edit menu to undo the link, but what if I created a note in the meantime?  Undo can't remove the link by that time.  I also note that the Browse Links choice in the View menu is always gray.  I'm guessing that this feature is for text links (?) as this is the only mention of Browse Links in the TB reference manual.

So I decide to click the red close window button and get a warning that I didn't save the document.  I choose Revert Changes and then get the error window that Tinderbox quit unexpectedly.  If I choose Reopen, the same window opens with the red "close" button indicating the document needs to be saved.  But clicking Ignore in the error window closes TB.  When I reopen the file, I am back to the state before having added a link. The same thing happens if I add a number of notes (instead of a link) but decide to abort.  Revert Changes again produces an error window.  This doesn't seem right.

So.... is this a bug?  Also, how do I remove a link in map mode without resorting to agents?

Tinderbox 6.6.5 works beautifully with Sierra. (The Revert Changes issue has been addressed in the current backstage release)

In map view, delete a link by selecting its source note and clicking the link’s "delete widget" -- the circle with an X.

OR, select the source note and choose Browse Links... from the View menu. Select a link, and press Delete.

Ah, yes - the source note.  I was choosing the destination note for Browse Links.  I get no circle with x inside to delete the link, since the two notes were on different map views.

Thanks.
