Eastgate Systems is delighted to offer the Web a special gift -- a completely new,
original hypertext fiction for the Web, written by Michael Joyce, the "grandaddy of hypertext fiction".
A drowning, a murder, a friendship, three or four love affairs, a boy and a
girl, two girls and their mothers, two mothers and their lovers, a daughter
and her father, a father and his lover, seven women, three men, twelve
months, twelve threads, eight hours, eight waves, one river, a quilt, a
song, twelve interwoven stories, a thousand memories, Twelve Blue is a gift
of love,
a fiction written especially for the world wide web by Michael
Joyce, author of the classic hypertext fiction afternoon, a story and the new
fiction, Twilight, A Symphony, both available from Eastgate.
Twelve Blue explores the way our lives--like the web itself or a year, a
day, a memory, or a river-- form patterns of interlocking, multiple, and
recurrent surfaces. Joyce uses HTML frames and simple sinking hyperlinks to
achieve a feeling of depth and successive interaction unlike other web
fictions. The fiction echoes with possibilities and transforms the
day-to-day, page to page, rhythm of the web into a new music of swirling
waters and shades of blue.
